Whether you got here from a recommendation or through the wizardry of the Internet search, thanks for stopping by!
I created this blog to showcase some of the best burgers in the country – ones that I can personally endorse.
As I am constantly travelling, I am always testing new suggestions and checking those found on the "Best Burger" lists.
I will be updating the site as often as I have time, so keep sending ideas my way! Again, thanks for checking this out!

Burger Review - Buds Bar...

Review:

In the small town of Sedalia, Colorado - population just over 200 - is the best burger in Colorado and quite possibly one of the very best in the country.

Bud's Bar has been making burgers for over 60 years. Located just off of US Hwy 85 between Denver and Castle Rock, it has been a mainstay for the biker crowd for years. But that isn't to say that it is biker bar / dive. The crowd is as diverse as possible - my wife and I came in one night to a packed bar, only to see that - in addition to the normal crowd of ranchers, golfers and bikers - the local girls equestrian riding class was having a princess party there.  I am not kidding.

There are exactly four things on the Bud's menu: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, double hamburgers and double cheeseburgers. Trust me - that's all they need. The burgers come with a side bowl of pickles and onions, and served with a bag of chips.  The burgers are exactly what a quality burger should be: a hand packed 1/3 pound patty, seared on an ancient flat top with a steamed soft roll.  They come off the roll so hot that you bite into one at your own peril.

There is nothing fancy about this burger. No gimmicks. No trendy toppings. No special sauces or seasonings. Just quality beef, cooked to perfection, with melted cheese on a bun. Perfect.

I have been going to Bud's for over 30 years. I hope to be going for 30 more. In that time, the only significant change to Bud's is when they replaced the windows (after the smoking ban was enacted in Colorado - I was blown away that the table I had sat under for decades actually had a window above it!).

In Colorado, you always here about some of the other, trendy burgers that make the "best of" lists. Bud's is often included on those lists as well, but never seems to get the credit it deserves as the most consistent quality burger in the Denver metro area for the past 1/2 century.

This burger is one of my personal Top 10,
and I cannot recommend it enough.
