This weekend, I had the distinct pleasure of dining at Five Guys. Those of you with experience on the East Coast probably have heard of them before (I have been to Five Guys several times on my travels). You can visit their website here:
http://www.fiveguys.com/
They have been expanding, and have recently opened up two locations in Colorado, with more to come. I visited the one in Aurora:
Five Guys
2300 South Parker Road
Aurora, CO 80231
303-751-7449
There is also a location in Fort Collins:
Five Guys
1335 West Elizabeth, #100
Fort Collins, CO 80521
970-797-2428
As many of you may know, 'tis the season for Dairy Delite, and until they close in the fall, it is fairly unlikely that I will be making the trek to Fort Collins. But for my less obsessive friends, and those that actually live in Northern Colorado, Five Guys is an awesome choice for your burger dining experience. I highly recommend them!

New Colorado Burger for the List...
Of course, the very afternoon that I post my “Best Burgers in Colorado” list, I find another that should probably be included.
The Beautiful Susie and I finally had a chance to partake in a Smashburger. There are several locations in the Denver metro, and we visited the location at Colorado and Kentucky.
The burger was outstanding. Loosely packed and cooked to order. The fries were also very good.
We will need go back to this place very soon (probably this weekend). If you are in the Denver area, you might want to add this to you list to try.

Best Burgers in Colorado...
A topic near and dear to my heart, for certain. Where are the best burgers? If you have ever had a meal with me, in all likelihood it was at a place that serves a decent burger. Not all burgers are created equal (by any means), and I would contend that there is the point that “the best” is a matter of personal style or preference (flame broiled or fried, special toppings or in the buff).
My criteria are probably overly simplistic, but I am not complicated when it comes to judging quality burgers: bun, meat and cheese.
The Bun: the most overlooked aspect of a great burger is the bun. The bun should match the burger type. Lots of variables here, but the bun should never be discounted.
The Cheese: I am a good ol’ American cheese kind of guy. Some places will offer a variety of cheeses for the individual palate, but American cheese should always be an option.
The Meat: Fresh, never frozen. Ground chuck is always a good place to start (not too fat, not too lean). A seasoning salt is not out of the question, but good ground beef should be able to stand on its own.
Here is my list of some of the best burgers found in the great state of Colorado. The list is in no particular order, and I would recommend trying all of them if you have the opportunity.

Honorable Mention:
When searching the Internet for the best burger in Colorado, the Cherry Cricket almost always appears on the list. I have been there on several occasions, and have never really been that impressed with the burgers at the Cricket, but lots of other people seem to be.
Cherry Cricket

I can provide additional commentary for anyone interested in any of these locations. I will compile my list of best burgers in my travels at some later time, and some of these Colorado burger joints will be on this list.
Enjoy! And if you need company when you try one of these fine establishments, I do not need much of an excuse to go!

A Blog Is Reborn!
After being absent for many years, I have returned to bring you commentary about the best burgers in the country (sometimes in the world)! I am considered to be an expert at many things, but I am often considered the undisputed master of all things burger, and friends / co-workers / acquaintances can attest to my passion about finding - and EATING - the best burgers around.
So enjoy! I can't promise the frequency of posts or reviews, but I will try to update whenever possible, especially when I come across something praiseworthy.
I also ask that you share your burger experiences with me - preferably enjoying one with me.
Happy Eating!
